Why is housing so expensive?
While every other technology on earth has evolved over the past 50 years, homebuilding is still done the traditional way: one board, one cut, one nail at a time. The only way to speed up this method is to add more people to the build crew, but the process itself has never undergone a total system rewrite.

The Automation Gap
A recent trend has seen homebuilding migrate into remote OFFsite factories where massive, heavy machinery and complex robotics perform mostly the same traditional building process, just indoors. This luxury comes at great cost to the buyer, namely the cost of logistics. To date, there are no offsite prefabrication builders providing any significant price savings on a new home.
This helmet is called The Brain Bucket™
It records jobsite labor data, things like step count and heart rate, stress levels, blood pressure, cognitive fatigue and other biometrics. It also video captures the entirety of the work being performed by the wearer, along with the group conversation of all the workers onsite.
Our cofounder invented this device and has been wearing the Brain Bucket for years now, amassing terabytes of data from active construction jobsites and studying the process of homebuilding as a physical science. This one-of-a-kind data study revealed so many incredible truths, but one shocking conclusion stands above them all: Wood-based construction is the most expensive, most dangerous way to build a durable high-performance house.
We used that data to hack the homebuilding industry by completely reinventing an all-new building formula, from foundation to finish, incorporating ideas like reusability, recyclability, and minimizing the need for skilled labor.
